Citi: CHINA MOBILE's overall performance in the first fiscal quarter slightly exceeds expectations. Maintains a "Buy" rating with a Target Price of 82.3 HKD.
Citigroup released a Research Report stating that CHINA MOBILE (00941) reported revenues in line with market expectations for the first quarter of FY 2025; EBITDA grew by 3.5% year-on-year, which is 4% higher than market expectations; Net income increased by 3% year-on-year, exceeding market expectations by 6%. Benefiting from effective control of operating costs, the overall performance for the first quarter slightly surpassed expectations. Citigroup believes that amidst increasing market volatility, Chinese telecom stocks as a whole have attractive defensive investment value. The bank sets the Target Price for CHINA MOBILE at HKD 82.3, giving it a 'Buy' rating.
Citi: Raises BOC HONG KONG's Target Price to HKD 32.2, maintains "Buy" rating.
Citi released a Research Report stating that BOC HONG KONG (02388) is expected to have an operating profit of 13 billion HKD in the first quarter of 2025, an increase of 23% quarter-on-quarter and 1% year-on-year. The bank expects that a reduction in market interest rates will pressure net interest income, while non-net interest income may remain strong under improved market conditions. Citi's earnings forecast for BOC HONG KONG in the 2025 fiscal year is 5% higher than the market expectation, but forecasts for the 2026/2027 fiscal years are roughly in line. The dividend yield for the 2025 fiscal year is 6.8%, coupled with potential buybacks in the 2026 fiscal year, thus maintaining a 'Buy' rating. The target price is set at 2.
